Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information Der Die Das: Deutsch Lernen ("the app"), published by Ashraful Islam, collects, why, and how it is used.
1. Information We Collect
- Anonymous device identifier - a randomly generated ID created on your device the first time you use the app. It is not linked to your name, email, or any other personally identifiable information. It is used for AI rate-limiting and anonymous analytics.
- Anonymous usage events - actions such as starting a review session, adding a noun, or completing onboarding. These events are linked only to your anonymous device identifier and are used to understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
- Learning content you create - German nouns, their articles, translations, and your review results. This data is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers unless you explicitly use a sync feature, which is not yet available.
- AI suggestion queries - when you request an AI-powered noun suggestion, the noun text you entered is sent to OpenAI to generate the suggestion. No other information is included in that request.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
- Name, email address, or phone number
- Location data
- Payment information
- Browsing history or cross-app tracking data
3. Third-Party Services
The app uses OpenAI to provide AI-powered noun suggestions. When you use this feature, the noun text you type is transmitted to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI's handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy: openai.com/policies/privacy-policy .
The app uses PostHog for anonymous usage analytics. PostHog collects anonymous event data, such as which features you use and how often, linked only to a randomly generated device identifier and never to your name or personal information. Your approximate country and city are derived from your IP address by PostHog on their servers; the app does not read or store your location. PostHog's privacy policy: posthog.com/privacy .
4. Data Storage
All your nouns, articles, and review history are stored locally on your device using an on-device database. We do not operate a user account system and do not store your learning data on remote servers.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data from your device. Because we do not hold your learning data on our servers, there is nothing further to request deletion of.
6. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
